In The Community

Estate agency, in spite of the growth of internet and hybrid agents, is fundamentally a people business based on the High Street. Our role in the community is to handle what for most people is their biggest, most valuable transaction and one of the most stressful, which also applies to people renting i.e. moving house. Our role is to handle and manage these transactions and keep them as straight forward and stress free as possible. As a part of the community, we want to put something back into it and two wonderful local charities are:

The RNLI

Margaret Green Animal Rescue (Patron, Edward Fox)

The RNLI is in its 200th year and our Mudeford office is literally a 5 minute stroll away from Mudeford Quay, where Mudeford lifeboat station is based. The Mudeford Servant Atlantic 85 lifeboat has launched twenty-nine times this year so far and launched eighty five times in 2023.

We support what is known as ‘Blue Light Day’, which is designed to showcase the work of the RNLI and other blue light organisations (very popular with families and raising awareness of the skill and bravery involved), as well as fundraising for them. It’s a fun event held every summer on Mudeford Quay next to the lifeboat station.

Margaret Green Animal Rescue is the other local charity close to our hearts.

We live in an area which has a very high number of of animal lovers. A huge number of our clients have dogs and we certainly live in the perfect place to take your dog for a walk either along the beach, or in the nearby New Forest.

The charity was set up in the 1960’s by, believe it or not, Margaret Green, and has three sites across Dorset and into Devon, taking care of, not just dogs and cats, but also bunnies, pigs, horses, donkeys, goats, etc. We took a tour of the Church Knowle site in January and met a good number of the lovely animals at the centre and saw their newly constructed cat house!

Every Christmas we have charity boxes in each office and invite people to donate toys, treats, blankets and dog food or donate via a QR code. This proves very popular as it’s interactive and being Christmas, people love to feel like they’re doing something good and donating to something. We have several people who heartwarmingly put items in the collection boxes and do this again and again, 2 or 3 times!

In August 2024, we sponsored the refreshment stall at The Country Dog Show.
